CM Naidu responds positively to proposal to dedicate suicide prevention film to Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, Sept 25 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has responded positively to a proposal by Kargil War veteran Group Captain GJ Rao to dedicate his award-winning film September-10 to the state free of cost as part of efforts to promote suicide prevention.

Rao, who has taken up suicide prevention advocacy, submitted the proposal to the Chief Minister at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday.

Naidu directed the officials concerned to examine the proposal and place it before him for consideration, the statement said.

The film, titled September-10, derives its name from World Suicide Prevention Day, observed on September 10.

The proposal seeks to make the film available in the state without any cost with the objective of creating awareness about suicide prevention and helping save lives.

Rao has also submitted a similar proposal to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, with a decision awaited,

The proposal is aimed at using cinema as a medium to create greater awareness about suicide prevention and encourage people facing distress to seek timely support.
