Upasana Kamineni Konidela takes charge as Apollo Director – Projects
Hyderabad, Sept 24 (TNT): Upasana Kamineni Konidela has taken on the responsibility of Director – Projects at Apollo, where she will work with the leadership, clinical teams and project partners on planning and delivery of hospital projects across India.
Her responsibilities will cover new facilities, expansions and upgrades to existing hospitals, with a focus on consistent design standards across patient spaces, the hospital said in a release on Thursday.
She will also work on clear signage and wayfinding, easier navigation, efficient clinical spaces and improving the experience of patients and their families.
Apollo’s current expansion plan has an estimated total project cost of around ₹8,600 crore, including approximately ₹1,565 crore for listed brownfield expansion projects at existing facilities.
The programme includes projects in Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru, besides Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati and Ranchi, among other locations. The specific projects and budgets under Upasana’s mandate will be confirmed by Apollo.
Upasana said her role would focus on carrying forward Apollo founder Dr Prathap C. Reddy’s vision of making world-class healthcare accessible to people in India.
She said thoughtful hospital design should help patients navigate facilities easily, support families and provide doctors and healthcare teams with spaces that enable quality care.
The expansion programme aims to improve access to advanced healthcare while creating opportunities for doctors, nurses and other skilled professionals.
Apollo also plans to continue integrating hospital care with prevention and early diagnosis, while strengthening India’s position as a destination for international patients.
