Hyd: RPF constable saves senior citizen from mishap at Kacheguda

Hyderabad, Feb 22 ( TNT): A constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) averted a major accident and saved the life of a senior citizen at Kacheguda Railway Station on Saturday evening under “Operation Jeevan Raksha”.

Constable Pankaj Kumar Sharma of RPF/Kacheguda was on platform duty at Platform No. 1 at around 7.12 am when he noticed an elderly passenger attempting to board a moving train,  SCR Chief Public Relations officer A.Sridhar said in a release here.

The passenger reportedly slipped and was about to get trapped between the train and the platform after the train had started moving.

He lost balance and was in imminent danger of falling onto the tracks.

Displaying promptness and presence of mind, the constable immediately rushed to the spot, held the passenger and safely assisted him in boarding the train, preventing a serious mishap.

The passenger did not sustain any injuries and continued his journey safely.

RPF officials said the act reflects the commitment of the Hyderabad Division under “Operation Jeevan Raksha” to ensure passenger safety.
