Telangana: ACB arrests two Nizamabad Municipal Corporation employees for accepting bribe
Nizamabad, Sept 21 (TNT): The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested two employees of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a complainant for processing pension-related service book entries.
The accused were identified as Palda Ashok, Junior Assistant in the Establishment Section, and Kalakuntla Kiran Kumar, an outsourcing employee in the Audit Section of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation.
According to the ACB, the two were caught red-handed at Padmashali Sangam, Seetharammagar Colony, near Raja Rajendra Chowrasta in Nizamabad town, at about 11.18 am while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe.
The ACB said the accused had demanded the amount for preparing increment proceedings and making necessary entries and other details in the complainant’s mother’s service book for sanctioning her monthly pension.
The two accused were arrested and produced before the II Additional Special Judge for trial of SPE and ACB cases at Nampally, Hyderabad.
The case is under investigation, the ACB said.
