Rabi conference to be held in Delhi on Sept 28-29 : union Minister Chouhan

Hyderabad, Sept 18 (TNT): The Rabi Conference will be held at the Pusa Institute in New Delhi on September 28 and 29, Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Friday.

Agriculture Ministers and officials from all states will attend the conference with their respective teams and present detailed plans for the Rabi season, he said at the Regional Agriculture Conference for Southern States held here

The conference will finalise the crops to be sown during the Rabi season and the area to be brought under each crop. Based on the state-wise plans, requirements of seeds, fertilisers and other essential agricultural inputs will also be assessed, Chouhan said.

Ministers of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ram Nath Thakur and Bhagirath Choudhary, along with Agriculture Ministers from Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry, attended the Regional Agriculture Conference for Southern States here.

Agriculture Secretary Atish Chandra and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education and Director General, ICAR, M. L. Jat, besides other senior officials of the Ministry, were also present.
