VISAKHAPATNAM, Feb. 19 (TNT): Adani Gangavaram Port has been conferred the “Top Custodian – Port” Award at the International Customs Day 2026 celebrations, in recognition of its contribution to trade facilitation, operational efficiency and strengthening India’s export-import (EXIM) ecosystem.
The port, described as one of the deepest and most modern in India, was recognised for cargo handling efficiency, coordination with customs authorities, infrastructure capabilities and efforts to reduce turnaround time for import and export consignments.
In addition to the top honour, the port received two other awards: Lowest Import Dwell Time and Outstanding Contribution and Relentless Efforts Towards Strengthening EXIM Trade in Visakhapatnam.
In a release, Port officials said the recognitions reflect sustained focus on process optimisation, digital enablement, stakeholder collaboration and customer-centric operations.
They added that the awards underscore the port’s role in enhancing efficiency, transparency and reliability in maritime logistics.
The management of Adani Gangavaram Port expressed gratitude to the Customs Department, customers, trade partners, shipping lines and the Custom House Agents community for their support.
“This milestone is a testament to our collective commitment to excellence. Adani Gangavaram Port remains committed to further strengthening trade infrastructure, leveraging technology and delivering world-class services that contribute to India’s growing global trade ambitions,” the statement added.
