Hyderabad, Feb 17 (TNT): Rapido said on Tuesday that its network in Hyderabad has emerged as a key urban livelihood engine, with more than 5.4 lakh active captains operating across bike, auto and cab categories.
In a release, the company said Hyderabad has recorded over 34.3 lakh total captain registrations across categories. Nearly 50% of captains in the city depend on the platform as their primary source of income.
Captains in Hyderabad earn an average monthly income of ₹65,000 to ₹1 lakh, depending on vehicle type and working hours, with daily earnings typically ranging between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000, the company said.
Hyderabad sees over 9.1 lakh rides per day on the platform, translating into nearly 2.43 crore rides a month.
Of these, around 4.7 lakh rides are undertaken during peak office and college hours, providing high-frequency earning opportunities, according to company data.
Rapido said commuter savings of up to ₹10,000 a month and shorter average estimated arrival times compared with competitors have supported sustained demand growth in the city.
Pavan Guntupalli, Co-Founder, Rapido, said Hyderabad has evolved into one of the company’s strongest livelihood markets, driven by consistent demand and flexible earning opportunities.
Founded in 2015, Rapido operates in over 400 cities and facilitates more than 5 million rides daily across categories including bike taxis, auto-rickshaws and cabs.
