AP CM Naidu directs officials to effectively implement constituency vision action plans
Amaravati, Aug 28 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed ministers, MPs, MLAs and officials to effectively implement constituency-wise Vision Action Plans to achieve the state’s development targets and place Andhra Pradesh among the leading states in all sectors.
Addressing a video conference with ministers, MPs, MLAs, collectors, Young Professionals, Knowledge Partners and officials as part of a review of the Vision Action Plans, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was the first state in the country to formulate and implement constituency-wise vision plans and the initiative had received national recognition.
He said elected representatives had a key role in achieving the targets identified under various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and asked them to regularly review the progress of the plans.
Young Professionals, Knowledge Partners and Swarna Office staff should play an active role in implementation by adopting innovative approaches, improving public services and contributing to the development of their respective constituencies, he said.
Naidu directed officials to prepare development plans based on local resources and the specific needs of each constituency. He said the government had prepared constituency visions after considering various factors and asked officials to tailor their implementation to local conditions.
A Data Lake had been created to provide information on various aspects of development, he said, directing officials to analyse the available data and make effective use of technology.
The Chief Minister asked MLAs to conduct regular field-level reviews of the implementation of Constituency Action Plans and ensure that the exercise was transparent and accountable rather than a mere formality.
He said the government’s objective was not limited to providing financial assistance to beneficiaries but to make them economically self-reliant.
Through the P4 project, support was being extended to poor families, while entrepreneurs should also be encouraged to participate in efforts to eradicate poverty, he said.
Naidu directed officials to work towards increasing per capita income in every constituency and ensure that industries receiving approvals were actually grounded in the respective districts and constituencies with the cooperation of public representatives and field-level officials.
He said government employees had completed 1.5 crore online courses aimed at improving their skills and capabilities. The Constituency Vision Plan Unit had also received national recognition, he added.
Naidu said education and healthcare had become a financial burden for poor and middle-class families and referred to schemes such as Sanjeevani and Thalliki Vandanam aimed at helping families address these challenges.
Improvement in the quality of education and skills in government schools had resulted in an additional one lakh students joining them, thereby reducing the financial burden on families, he said.
The Chief Minister called upon public representatives and officials to move away from conventional approaches, adopt innovative methods and implement vision plans according to local requirements.
He stressed the need for effective coordination between elected representatives and officials, saying political governance should be implemented at all levels.
Naidu said development programmes could achieve better results when people were made active partners in government decisions and initiatives.
Recalling the public response to the inauguration of Bhogapuram Airport, he said the campaign based on the theme “Wings to the Dreams of North Andhra” received voluntary support from people.
He also referred to the successful completion of the Mega DSC recruitment process, saying the government had overcome attempts to obstruct the recruitment aimed at benefiting youth and unemployed people.
“If the government can win the confidence of the people, their cooperation will also be forthcoming on the same scale,” Naidu added.
Minister Payyavula Keshav, Principal Secretary (Finance and Planning) Piyush Kumar and APSDP Executive Director V R Alaparthi were among those present.
