Ashtabandhana Maha Samprokshanam performed at Devuni Kadapa temple
Devuni Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 26 (TNT): Ashtabandhana Maha Samprokshanam of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Devuni Kadapa was performed on Wednesday as per Agama traditions, with TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra participating in the sacred ceremony.
As part of the renovation rituals, Chatushthanarchana, Murthi Homam and Prayaschitta Homam were performed at 7 am.
Maha Purnahuti, Maha Samprokshanam and Kalakarshana were performed by temple priests between 9.45 am and 11.30 am during Shravana Nakshatra and Tula Lagna amid Vedic chants and auspicious temple music.
Special prayers were offered for restoration of the sanctity and glory of the temple, the TTD said.
Following the Maha Samprokshanam, darshan of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy resumed for devotees.
Earlier, TTD EO Ravichandra offered prayers to Sri Kodandarama Swamy at Vontimitta. Temple priests accorded him a traditional welcome and performed special rituals before presenting him with Teertha Prasadam.
The priests also explained to the EO the spiritual and historical significance of the temple.
TTD JEO Dr A Sharath, Temple Deputy EO A Prashanthi, AEO Ravi, Superintendent Hanumanthayya, Temple Inspector Eshwar Reddy, temple priests and other officials participated.
