AM Intelligence to deploy one of Asia’s first NVIDIA Vera Rubin clusters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug 25 (TNT): AM Intelligence (AMI), the AI infrastructure platform set up by the promoters of Greenko, on Tuesday said it has placed a firm and binding order for around 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs for its first AI Factory in Hyderabad, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The GPUs will be deployed as Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems across 30 MW of capacity, making the Hyderabad facility one of the first frontier AI compute clusters in Asia, the Hyderabad based company said in a release here.

The Hyderabad facility will be the first tranche of AMI’s planned 1 GW of Compute-as-a-Service capacity across India, the US, Finland and Malaysia.

The company plans to bring an initial 200 MW of capacity to market in the near term, involving capital expenditure of more than USD 8 billion.

AMI Chairman Anil Chalamalasetty said the deployment of the latest-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin architecture in India marked the next step in the company’s strategy of converting power infrastructure into frontier AI compute at scale.

The Hyderabad AI Factory is being designed with NVIDIA Vera Rubin architecture, high-throughput RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) networking and advanced storage systems to support some of the world’s largest AI models, including trillion-parameter models and next-generation agentic AI applications.

NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 features NVFP4, a low-precision computing format, along with next-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM4).

The architecture is designed to reduce AI inference token-serving costs by up to 10 times compared with the preceding NVIDIA Grace Blackwell generation, according to the release.

AMI’s Hyderabad AI Factory is being engineered to deliver around 450 exaFLOPS of NVFP4 inference compute.

AMI plans 5 GW of powered AI data centres

AMI said it is developing 5 GW of powered AI data centres across India, the US and Europe, with the facilities designed for high-density AI computing and equipped with liquid cooling to manage the power and heat requirements of advanced AI chips.

The company also plans to offer 1 GW of Compute-as-a-Service capacity for global AI workloads, with an initial 200 MW expected to come online in the near term.

AMI said its full-stack AI infrastructure ecosystem spans energy, data-centre infrastructure, hardware and customised AI models.

The company is backed by Greenko’s renewable generation and storage assets and is developing gigawatt-scale, liquid-cooled compute capacity for global hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, enterprises and India’s sovereign AI initiatives.

AMI said it is developing a 50 GW energy infrastructure platform across more than 20 states, spanning solar, wind, hydro and energy storage, while targeting 200 GWh of interconnected energy storage capacity across India.
