Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar lays foundation stone for integrated wellness centre in Ongole

Ongole, Aug 19 (TNT) : Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of The Art of Living, on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for an integrated wellness development spread across 55 acres at Sai Vishnu Chaturvatika in Ongole.

The project, promoted by EBG Group, will bring together Carlton Wellness Retreat, Sri Sri Panchakarma & Tattva Centre and Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir as an integrated ecosystem combining hospitality, Ayurveda, education and nature-led living.

Carlton Wellness Retreat will be developed by EBG Realty, while the Sri Sri Panchakarma & Tattva Centre and Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir will be developed by The Art of Living.

Speaking after the foundation ceremony, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said the development would bring wellness, education and community together at one destination.

He said true wellbeing involved care of the body, breath, mind, intellect, memory and ego, with yoga, Ayurveda, pranayama, meditation and knowledge contributing to overall wellbeing.

EBG Group Founder and CEO Dr Irfan Khan said the 55-acre development would integrate sustainable engineering with conscious living through low-carbon practices, climate-responsive design and native landscaping.

He said the initiative was aligned with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of positioning the State as a destination for wellness and spiritual economic growth.

EBG Group President Suresh Goyal said the Carlton Wellness Retreat would be the core of the development.

Being developed by EBG Realty with a proposed investment of Rs 45 crore, the retreat will span around 1,05,139 sq ft and comprise 36 plots and 35 two-bedroom villas.

The retreat is planned as a low-density hospitality destination integrating accommodation, landscaped surroundings and wellness-led living.

The Sri Sri Panchakarma & Tattva Centre will provide physician-guided Panchakarma, rejuvenation and preventive wellness programmes, catering to both short-term wellness programmes and residential Ayurveda and Panchakarma experiences.

The Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir will offer a holistic education model incorporating academics with values, culture, character building, physical wellbeing, creativity, yoga, meditation, environmental awareness and nature-based learning.

The Ongole development is envisioned as a wellness-led destination integrating hospitality, traditional wellness practices, education, nature and community, with the objective of demonstrating the potential of Tier-2 cities to develop destination-led models centred on wellbeing and quality of life.

The foundation ceremony was attended by Dr Irfan Khan, Founder and CEO, EBG Group; Suresh Goyal, Group President, EBG Group; and Hari Kiran, Co-founder, EBG Group, among others.
