People’s Govt role model in women, farmers and youth empowerment: CM Revanth Reddy
Parkal, Aug 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday said the People’s Government had emerged as a role model in empowering women, farmers and youth through a series of welfare and development initiatives.
Addressing a public meeting organised as part of the Praja Palana Pragathi Bata programme in Parkal, the Chief Minister said the State government was focusing on the welfare of farmers, women and unemployed youth.
Highlighting the government’s measures for farmers, Revanth Reddy said that despite the Kaleshwaram project turning into what he termed “Kuleshwaram”, the government had taken steps to fill reservoirs and ensure water availability for agriculture.
He said the government had procured paddy and paid Rs 90,000 crore to farmers in the last 32 months.
The government had also introduced Rythu Bharosa and implemented the farm loan waiver scheme, he said, adding that more than Rs 1 lakh crore had been spent on farmers’ welfare during the past two-and-a-half years.
The Chief Minister questioned the Opposition over its criticism of the government and asked whether the government had not provided a bonus for fine-variety paddy cultivated by farmers.
Appealing to unemployed youth to focus on competitive examinations, Revanth Reddy said the government would identify vacancies and issue recruitment notifications every six months.
“Filling vacancies is our responsibility and preparing for the exams is yours,” he said.
He said recruitment to 72,000 government posts had already been completed and notifications had been issued for police recruitment. The government had also relaxed the upper age limit to provide greater opportunities to unemployed youth, he said.
The Chief Minister accused the previous BRS government of failing to adequately fill government vacancies and urged unemployed youth not to be misled by what he described as political rhetoric and false promises.
On women’s empowerment, Revanth Reddy said his government had provided zero-interest loans and taken measures to strengthen women’s economic independence. Self-help groups had been entrusted with the manufacture of uniforms, while initiatives had also been taken to encourage women to operate solar plants and petrol bunks.
He contrasted these measures with the previous BRS government’s policies and alleged that the KCR regime had favoured members of one family in key political positions.
Revanth Reddy also made sharp political remarks against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR), alleging that the previous regime had prioritised the interests of the KCR family.
He said the government was ready to disclose facts about those who benefited during the previous regime and made allegations concerning the family’s property and political affairs.
The Chief Minister announced that the Telangana Legislative Assembly session would be held in September and called upon party leaders and workers to work towards securing a stronger mandate in the 2029 elections.
Revanth Reddy said he would continue working for the people and addressing their issues, asserting that public support would enable him to withstand political opposition.
Recalling the historical significance of the erstwhile Warangal region, the Chief Minister said the district had a long history of resistance and had repeatedly demonstrated its spirit whenever people faced oppression.
