TTD to take action against person smoking on Alipiri footpath

Tirumala, Aug 16 (TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to initiate legal action against a person found smoking on the Alipiri walking path in violation of the temple administration’s regulations.

A complaint would be lodged with the police against the individual and appropriate legal action would be pursued, TTD said in a release hereon Sunday.

Smoking, consumption of alcohol, intoxicating substances and Gutka are strictly prohibited in Tirumala, Alipiri, Srivari Mettu and other areas under TTD jurisdiction.

The temple administration said smoking on the Alipiri walking path was a violation of the regulations and hurt the sentiments of devotees.

TTD reiterated that strict action would be taken against those violating its regulations. It also warned that security personnel found negligent in carrying out inspections would face disciplinary action.

The temple administration directed security personnel to intensify inspections and ensure strict enforcement of the restrictions in all areas under its jurisdiction.
