Hyd: 750 Mini Gas Cylinders Seized, Four Held in Illegal Manufacturing and Transport Network
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (TNT): The Rajendranagar Task Force of Hyderabad City Police on Friday claimed it has busted an alleged illegal manufacturing and transportation network of mini gas cylinders by arresting four persons here.
Acting on credible information on August 12, the Task Force intercepted a Bolero vehicle at Main Road, Gagan Pahad, Shamshabad, under the limits of RGIA Police Station and apprehended Mohammad Abdul Hannan, who was allegedly transporting 400 mini gas cylinders from Rajapur to Hyderabad.
Bholesha was subsequently apprehended and allegedly revealed that Mohammad Shakeel of Troop Bazar, Hyderabad, was the source of the mini cylinders.
All three were handed over to RGIA Police Station, where a case was registered.
Based on information provided by Shakeel, the Task Force raided a godown at Rajapur village, where the mini cylinders were allegedly being manufactured illegally and transported to Hyderabad without the required documents and permissions.
During the raid, police apprehended Md Dilshad, 45, a labourer and resident of Mothi Nagar, Delhi, and seized 350 mini gas cylinders and seven manufacturing machines used in their production.
The accused and seized property were handed over to Rajapur Police Station, where a case was registered.
In all, police seized 750 mini gas cylinders, one Bolero vehicle and seven manufacturing machines in the two cases registered at RGIA and Rajapur police stations.
Police said the action disrupted the alleged illegal manufacturing and transportation network and prevented the unauthorised circulation and potential misuse of mini gas cylinders.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, IPS, DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, IPS, and under the guidance of Additional DCP, Task Force, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad Zones, K S Rao.
Police advised the public to purchase gas cylinders only from authorised and licensed dealers and avoid cylinders sold by unknown persons, roadside sellers or unauthorised shops.
People were also urged not to use cylinders without proper safety certification and documentation and to inform police or concerned authorities about illegal manufacturing, sale, storage or transportation of mini gas cylinders.
