Ishan’s supersonic fifty powers India to 175/7 in T20 World Cup against Pakistan

Colombo, Feb 15 (TNT): On a tacky surface at R. Premadasa Stadium, India rode on a blistering knock from Ishan Kishan to post a competitive 175 for seven against Pakistan in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash here on Sunday.
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to field first against India.

India began aggressively after being put into bat.

Ishan Kishan led the charge with a scintillating 77, taking on the Pakistani pace attack and putting India on course for a total well beyond 200.

However, Pakistan fought back strongly through Saim Ayub, who produced a superb spell of 3 for 25 to stall India’s surge and pick up key wickets.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav added 32 with his trademark innovation, while Shivam Dube chipped in with 27. But the late acceleration never quite came, and India finished at a competitive 175 for 6.

India had made two changes, bringing in Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav in place of Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh, while Pakistan retained the same XI.
