Center clears pending funds for IIFT: Kakinada MP

Kakinada, Feb 15(TNT) : Thangella Uday Srinivas , Kakinada MP said that hurdles were cleared for the completion of the prestigious Indian Institute of Foreign Trade(IIFT) building complex  under construction at Ponnada in Pithapuram constituency with the Central government agreeing to release its share of funds pending to the tune of Rs.28.43 Crores , due to his personal efforts.

Uday Srinivas  told media persons here on Sunday that the State Government also issued a GO releasing  Rs.57.10 crores towards its share of funds for the IIFT ,thus completion of cent percent funding for the project.

The MP said that the previous YSRCP government had neglected the IIFT and delayed sanctioning of its share of funds resulting in tardy progress. ` After coalition government came to power, at the instance of deputy Chief Minister Pawan kalyan efforts were made to complete the IIFT expeditiously .

Constant touch with the Central Minister Piyush Goel and concerned officials has achieved success and now the IIFT is getting total funding of Rs.229.81 Crore paving the way for its early completion ‘the MP added.

He said the prestigious IIFT campus would be operational soon and thanked both the state and central governments for their prompt response.
