Telangana to Launch Distribution of 1.05 Crore New Ration Cards on Aug 15

Hyderabad, Aug. 7 (TNT): The Telangana Government will launch the statewide distribution of 1.05 crore newly sanctioned and laminated Public Distribution System (PDS) ration cards on August 15, coinciding with the 79th Independence Day celebrations.

According to an official memorandum issued by the Office of the Minister for Civil Supplies, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has approved the programme schedule for the statewide launch.

The State-level inaugural function will be held at Sangareddy, where the Chief Minister will formally launch the distribution of the new ration cards.

Simultaneously, ration card distribution programmes will be organised in all 119 Assembly constituencies across Telangana.

Each programme will be coordinated by the respective Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) with support from the district administration and the Civil Supplies Department.

As the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremonies will be held during the morning and the Chief Minister is scheduled to attend the ‘At Home’ function at Raj Bhavan in the evening, constituency-level distribution programmes will be conducted between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on August 15.
