AP Govt Advisor Chaganti Advises Trainee Police Personnel to Adopt Stress Management Techniques
Kakinada, Aug. 7 (TNT): Renowned spiritual preacher and government advisor Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao on Friday advised trainee police personnel to adopt effective stress management techniques and cultivate patience, discipline and compassion while discharging their duties.
Addressing more than 5,560 trainee police constables across Andhra Pradesh through a video conference from the Kakinada District Police Office, Chaganti said mental stress was an inevitable part of policing but could be effectively managed through self-discipline, sincerity and a positive approach.
He said people visit police stations seeking relief from their problems and expect a sympathetic hearing from police personnel.
Urging the trainees to remain courteous while dealing with the public, he said police personnel should patiently listen to complainants and respond with empathy instead of displaying anger or impatience, as such behaviour could further distress those seeking help.
Chaganti also advised police personnel to develop the habit of reading good books, particularly humorous literature, to relieve stress.
He recommended works such as ‘Guravayanam’ by noted orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Gurava Reddy and books authored by Chilakamarti Lakshmi Narasimham and Jandhyala.
Kakinada Superintendent of Police Bindu Madhav, Additional SP Dr. Mahanti Kishore Kumar, Special Branch DSP K.V.V. Satyanarayana, APSP Third Battalion Commandant and Police Training Principal K. Naveen Kumar, and Assistant Commandant Gangaraju attended the programme from the Kakinada District Police Office.
Training IG Amburajan, AIG (Training) Sathibabu and principals of 21 police training colleges across the State participated in the programme through video conferencing.
Later, SP Bindu Madhav and Additional SP Dr. Mahanti Kishore Kumar felicitated Chaganti Koteswara Rao with a shawl.
