UoH, University of Tabriz Explore Academic, Research Collaboration
Hyderabad, Aug. 6 (TNT): A delegation from the University of Tabriz, Iran, on Thursday visited the University of Hyderabad (UoH) here to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration across multiple disciplines.
The delegation, led by Prof. Asghar Asgari, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology and Professor of Physics at the University of Tabriz, and Prof. Dr. Hossein Navid, representative of the International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA) in Iran, held discussions with UoH Vice Chancellor (in-charge) Prof. J. Anuradha and officials of the Office for International Affairs.
The meeting focused on establishing collaborative initiatives in basic sciences, engineering and agricultural technology, the University said in a release here.
Both sides explored possibilities for joint research projects by linking the University of Tabriz’s research strengths in physics, photonics and renewable energy with UoH’s Schools of Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences and Engineering Sciences.
The discussions also covered collaboration in smart and precision agriculture, faculty and researcher exchange programmes, guest lectures, reciprocal short-term academic visits, and joint Ph.D. supervision with student mobility initiatives.
The leadership of both universities expressed optimism over the proposed collaboration and agreed to initiate formal steps towards signing an institutional agreement through the University of Hyderabad’s Office for International Affairs.
