46,011 Kg Ganja Seized; 1,836 NDPS Cases Registered in AP in 2025: EAGLE Annual Report

Vijayawada, Feb 15 ( TNT):  The Enhanced Action Group for Legal Enforcement (EAGLE) has seized 46,011 kilograms of ganja and registered 1,836 cases under the NDPS Act, according to its Annual Report–2025.
The report was released by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat in Amaravati here on Saturday.
As per the report, from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, EAGLE seized over 46 tonnes of ganja and imposed fines amounting to Rs 72.44 lakh.
A total of 760 accused were arrested and 770 vehicles were seized in connection with narcotics offences. Additionally, 96 preventive detentions were made under the PIT NDPS Act.
The report stated that 1,12,406 kilograms of ganja were scientifically incinerated and disposed of. Enforcement teams also destroyed ganja cultivation spread over 94.77 acres and uprooted 31,185 ganja plants.
A focused initiative was carried out in Alluri Sitarama Raju district using satellite imagery and drone surveillance to eliminate illegal cultivation. Intelligence-based ground operations were conducted as part of the enforcement drive.
Financial investigations led to the freezing and seizure of assets worth Rs 9.11 crore.
The report further noted the establishment of over 40,000 EAGLE Clubs in educational institutions and the conduct of more than 35,000 awareness campaigns, reaching over 20 lakh students.
Senior police officials, including EAGLE IGP Ake Ravi Krishna and EAGLE SP K Nagesh Babu, handed over the annual report to Home Minister V. Anitha.
